Mr. Mahen Weerasekera
Mr. Mahen Weerasekera is the Chairman of Sanken Group and embodies the values of the organization to achieve the interest of all stakeholders. He created a group structure to support the staff from which Sanken has expanded into multiple domestic and international sectors, transforming it to a market leader of choice.
He holds a BSc Jt Hons from the University of London, a MDP from Asian Institute of Management in Manila and he leads the Group to grow progressively from its foundation with Mitsui, a fortune 500 company.
His vision has rewarded the Group with recognition in Sri Lanka and Overseas, consistently over the years with the special focus on best practices.
He is the Vice President of Sri Lanka – Greater Mekong Business Council, associated with Ceylon Chamber of Commerce and is a trustee of two charitable organizations, supporting university scholarships and destitute abandoned children.
Eng.Maj. Ranjith Gunatilleke
Eng.Maj. Ranjith Gunatilleke is a graduate from the Faculty of Engineering, University of Peradeniya, in 1976 and qualified as a Chartered Engineer in, 1979.
He is a member of the Institute of Civil Engineers, the United Kingdom since 1979 and the Institution of Engineers Sri Lanka, since 1984. He started his career in Engineering in 1976, in Sri Lanka Army Engineers (V) and served for more than 30 years and also served as a Civil Engineer, in the State Development & Construction Corporation.
Eng.Maj. Ranjith Gunatilleke joined Mitsui Construction Co. Ltd., in 1979 and served as the Chief Engineer until the formation of Sanken Construction in 1984, which is an associate company of Mitsui Construction, Tokyo, Japan. He currently holds the position of Deputy Chairman of Sanken Group of Companies.
Eng.Maj. Ranjith Gunatilleke has been serving in the following organizations of the Construction Industry.
- Ex- Chairman of Major & Specialists Contractors Association of Sri Lanka.
- Ex- Vice President of National Contractor Association of Sri Lanka.
- Member of CIDA (ICTAD) Management Board.
- Corporate Member of the IESL Board of Registration representing the Private Sector.
- Member of the Advisory Committee on Professional Service Sector of the Sri Lanka Export Development Board.
President for the Chamber of Construction Industries of Sri Lanka.

Eng. Rohana Wannigama
Mr Rohana Wannigama has been serving on the Sanken Board of Directors as an Executive Director since January 2009.
He joined the company in 1989 as a fresh young graduate and he is the quintessential example of how hard work, continued growth in knowledge & expertise, with the drive to contribute to one’s company and industry can truly make the right candidate rise to the top of the corporate ladder.
He is one of the Deputy Group CEOs and also serves as a board member on several subsidiaries and associate companies that are part of the Sanken Group.
His inclusion on the board of directors is expected to add momentum to the Company’s vision to be at the leading edge of innovation, sustainability and modern initiatives.
Eng. Mevan Gunatilleke
Mr. Mevan Gunatilleke is a Chartered Structural Engineer by profession, graduated from Imperial College London in 2012 with a Masters Degree in Civil Engineering with a First Class Honors classification.
Currently employed as the Executive Director of Sanken Overseas (Private) Limited, the overseas construction arm of Sanken Construction (Private) Limited, he overlooks the organizations ground operations and investments in Asia and Africa. His international exposure and strategic knowledge facilitates Sanken to undertake new ventures successfully.
He was instrumental in the growth of overseas construction projects by the Group which led to Sanken being the highest net foreign exchange earner in Sri Lanka for the year 2019/2020.
He is one of the Deputy Group CEOs and also serves as a board member on several subsidiaries and associate companies that are part of the Sanken Group.
Eng. Susil Rodrigo
Mr. Susil Rodrigo is a chartered Civil Engineer by profession, over 30 years of experience and a proven record of outstanding contributions to the construction industry, particularly in advanced high-rise building technologies.
In 1992 , he obtained his B.Sc ( Hons) Degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Moratuwa while being the batch top in his first year and batch representative for all consecutive years proving his exceptional leadership skills.
He has joined the Sanken Group in 1993 and since then he has been serving the firm in all disciplines of engineering, locally as well as internationally enduring his specialty in skyscrapers. He has also provided his services for the Sanken Australia being the General Manager and the Director of the Australian branch while holding the citizenship in Australia.
He currently serves as the Chief Operating Officer of Sanken Construction owing to his capacity to strengthen the pillars of the organization with his governing skills in administrative and operational functions of the trade to the enrichment of greater goals of the firm.
His value addition and prosperous operations in the group of Sanken further extends to several subsidiaries and associated companies in the capacity of board member.
