Sanken Lanka rebrands as Sanken Construction

Sanken Lanka (Pvt) Ltd., recently rebranded itself as Sanken Construction (Pvt) Limited.

The Company said the dynamic management, professionalism and the high standards will not change – except to get better.

Sanken Lanka (Pvt) Ltd., inaugurated in 1988, has it roots in the Mitsui Construction Company, Japan which commenced its operations in Sri Lanka 11 years earlier. Over the years, Sanken steadily built its reputation and is today, not only solidly established, but recognised for its integrity and total reliability in the competitive construction industry. Its concrete credentials are evident in the many noteworthy projects: Commercial buildings, residential apartments, hotels, banks and hospitals. Some of the projects include Trillium Residencies, Empire Towers, HNB Towers, Emperor Residencies, Capitol Residencies, Aitken Spence Buildings, Majestic City Complex, House of Fashions building, JAIC Hilton, HR Residencies and Nawaloka Hospitals. Sanken‘s expertise enables equally dedicated focus on high rise buildings and medium scale projects simultaneously, ensuring total customer satisfaction.

Currently, Sanken’s diversification programme includes construction related industries Civil Engineering constructions and the supply of ‘readymix’ concrete. The services include property development, hire of scaffolding material, hire or lease of construction machinery and equipment, hire of skilled manpower for construction projects, project consultancy, designs and development of project, piling work and supply of construction material.

Sanken Lanka (Inc. 1984) is an ICTAD C1 graded company, with over 15 subsidiaries and Associate companies. Sanken is reputed for Quality products (ISO 9001:2008 QMS Certified), quality construction and ‘readymix’ concrete. The Company is expected to gain the ISO 18001 certification for hands on occupational health and safety precautions in early 2012.

Sanken Lanka (Pvt) Ltd was recognised by several institutions for excellence in operation and management systems which have added value to the organisation’s reputation including the National Business Excellence Award 2010 and the NCASL Construction Excellence Award 2008 and many others.

Sanken Lanka has reciprocated the support the Industry extended, which sustained its growth, by training Human Resources through Skills Training and Management (Pvt) Ltd (STM) thus enhancing the availability of skilled manpower to fill our country’s needs, without considering costs to the Company. STM aims to educate and train vitally needed manpower to reach new standards to meet the construction industry requirements in skilled masons, bar benders, tilers, carpenters, plumbers, survey helpers, riggers and survey assistants.

STM is an associate Company of Sanken Lanka incorporated under the Company’s Act on 2 December 2005. The Institute is fully owned by Sanken Lanka as the major shareholder and the Directors comprise the Top Management of Sanken Lanka. Sanken Lanka, the major share holder by virtue of owning 40% of the shares also extends financial support.
